Recent artistic
exploration has found in me the desire to make my work public once more.
It's been a while since I had any kind of exhibition and the artistic
pieces I've created in the last year or so have tended to be individul
commissions or personal pieces.
Not so any
more. I've been bitten by the bug again so here are a few of my recent,
and not so recent but recently adapted pieces for viewing. Most of them
are also available as desktop images. I've included a brief write up with
each piece that includes links to the desktop images at various resolutions.
Newsflash:
I am now looking for models, preferably in couples for close up photography
work on body parts intertwined (amongst other things). If you think you
might be up for it, e-mail me.

Title:
Barbed
Background:
Title image for a uni project about endometriosis. See www.ginaroberts.com/endoposters/
for more information about this project. This is an adaptation of
the original image for this site.

Title:
Wired
Background:
Also from the endometriosis project. The barbed wire was used to
illustrate the entrapment and pain experienced by endo sufferers.
This is a digital manipulation of the word 'endometriosis' in barbed
wire.

Title:
Up
Background:
Also from the endometriosis project. I am the model in these photographs.
I have scars from the barbed wire cutting into my skin during the
photo shoot.

Title:
Ambulance Ride
Background:
From the endo project. I asked other endo sufferers what images
they associated with endo. One woman told me she remembered watching
the traffic lights going past in a blur as she was rushed to hospital.
This image has also featured as part of a nationwide postcard campaign.

Title:
Two Heads
Background:
Self portrait. Created out of pure experimentation this image has
since been described as a representation of self respect and love.
I really like this.

Title:
Held
Background:
Another self portrait. Following on from Two Heads, this piece is
a continuation of my exploration into morphing body parts. I wanted
to continue to convey a sense of peace and serenity along with the
idea of self love.

Feet
Background:
More morphing. Playing more with scale and getting a little more
adventurous.

Title:
Face
Background:
Self portrait. This image did, for a while, have various other body
parts superimposed, but nothing ever seemed to work quite as well
as the original image. Only available in 800x600.

Titles:
Internalised Homophobia I and II
These
images were produced as part of a project on 'internalised homophobia'.
They have already been exhibited, online, at the Reg Vardy Gallery
in Sunderland, England and at the Synergy Gallery in Melbourne,
Australia. There are still a few prints available but not many.
They are also available in black and white.

I am also
looking to extend and develop my work. I am happy to discuss the possibility
of one off commissions and I am always happy to hear from anyone who is
interested in modelling and/or collaborating. Please feel free to contact
me to discuss any of these things.
